Special exports insurance supports Danish jobs
The reinsurance programme that was adopted in the wake of the Credit Package can currently celebrate its first year of existence. It is a popular anniversary because the programme has already secured exports worth more than DKK 8 billion – and the demand is still on the rise.
The special government insurance scheme for exports – the Reinsurance Programme – has given a significant contribution in support of exports and employment during the financial crisis.
The programme has meant that many export orders, which would otherwise have been rejected, have been implemented. Overall, the programme is estimated to have secured exports worth more than DKK 8 billion. Furthermore, the employment effect can be estimated at 6,000-8,000 jobs so far.
The possibility of taking out insurance against losses is vital for companies because it has a direct effect on their business. Senior managers confirm this saying that coverage for one or several customers has helped to preserve many jobs.
Without the insurance, the companies would have been compelled to decline the orders.
